10. Plastipuff – the ink expands with heat to create a high loft with rounded edges.  The height depends on the amount of ink deposited, and therefore mesh count, stencil thickness and being off-contact.  A 110 mesh is a good place to start.  The color will become lighter as the ink expands.  Too much heat during curing will cause the ink to flatten out and turn dark with a glossy finish like shellac.

The ink film is exceptionally strong and abrasion resistant.  This ink great on caps, sweatshirts and other heavy materials.  When printed on T-shirts in larger, open designs, the ink will make a light weight fabric curl.  The curl can be prevented by printing the open area as large half tone dots rather than solid color.  The ink expands in all directions and the dots will merge.
Use Plastipuff either for the 3-D effect with rounded edges, or as a 10-20% additive to another ink to improve opacity without creating a noticeable loft.
